In the Zhodani Navy, the Idlev is probably the last of its type, a super-battleship and troop carrier. It is the Zhodani Consulate’s ultimate power projection platform. However, naval design philosophy has shifted towards more efficient, smaller vessels dedicated to a specific role, e.g. the Viepchakl’ for pure space combat. The Idlev is even bigger than the Imperium's vaunted Tigress class, and its performance is similar (within the limits of tech level 14). However, Idlev class ships are rarely deployed without significant support, as the are too valuable to risk losing. (The carried vessels add MCr ~18,068 to the ship's cost.)
