System Data
II'tha System
The primary is Ha'kth, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.064 Sols, a mass of 0.5376 Sols, and a diameter of 778,000 km. The companion is a red subdwarf star lying at a mean separation of 0.006 AU (900,000 km) from Ha'kth. It has a luminosity of 0.0038 Sols, a mass of 0.114 Sols, and a diameter of 167,000 km. The two stars have an orbital period around one another of 5 hours 32 minutes. (I) Il'tha orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (IV-I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (IV-II) a ringed very large gas giant, (V) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VII-I) a dense icy planetoid belt, and (VII-II) a trace atmosphere worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(I) II'tha
(I) II'tha is designated the mainworld. It orbits Ha'kth at a mean distance of 0.16 AU (23.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 31 days 21 hours: it is tidally locked to Ha'kth. The axial tilt is 6 degrees. II'tha has a diameter of 16,427 km, a density of 6.88 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.60 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 2.48 bar and a composition of 66% nitrogen (N2), 33% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by a combination of the high atmospheric pressure and the high percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 98% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 1m. Mean surface temperature: -5°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is very active and violent weather systems driven by the star oceans scour the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 847 million km², Water surface area: 830 million km², Land surface area: 17 million km².
Native Lifeforms
II'tha, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) has primitive native life, consisting almost entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
