Human Space are parts of Charted Space where humans dwell in significant numbers.

Most but not all of Charted Space is accessible to humans.

The Vilani established an early human hegemony within Charted Space. It is believed that the preponderance of humans, and the great number of human races, might have been a result of geneering by a precursor sophont species known as the Ancients.
