The Hhrachddrumm of Gelhhach (Gushemege 0810) are a Minor Non-Human Race with a non-humanoid appearance and technologically developing sophonts.

Description (Specifications)

One of the most startling examples of alien life in isolation are the Hhrachddrumm who show unusual three fold symmetry in all aspects of their biology: three sexes, three limbs with three digits, three body sections, three brains, three eyes and a triplex nucleic acid analogue.

The world of Gelhhach does not appear immediately conductive to the evolution of life as the world is for the most part extremely cold. To cope with the harsh conditions the Hhrachddrumm have a thick layer of fine, dense hairs, multiple layers of adipose tissue under a dark-coloured skin and an 'anti-freeze' as part of their cellular fluid.

The Hhrachddrumm are between 1.6 and 1.75 metres in height and weigh around 55-65 kilos. They live on average for 70 to 80 years. The Hhrachddrumm are omnivores but vegetable matter forms the largest proportion of their diet. They cultivate a couple of fungal species which are added to the food before eating to partially digest the material. All three sexes (male, alpha female and beta female) are required for reproduction - the male carries the embryonic Hhrachddrumm - with the offspring born after a 180-200 day gestation period.

History & Background (Dossier)

The race was only first discovered by Solomani explorers near the end of the Rule of Man. Contact was irregular at this juncture with the Solomani scouts mounting a monitoring operation of the culture. During the Long Night the Hhrachddrumm were forgotten. To the Hhrachddrumm the humans were only the vaguest of memories over the intervening centuries before contact was re-eastablished by Sylean scouts.

At the time of first contact the Hhrachddrumm were principally a pastoral society, dispersed over Gelhhach in agrarian communities at TL–1. On rediscovery the Hhrachddrumm had elevated themselves to TL–4. The Hrachddrumm are rarely found off their own world and have contributed little in a direct manner to the development of Gushemege. But Gelhhach is an agricultural exporter and thus is an important link in the well-being of the average citizen of the sector.
