A Hanger is a location on a vessel used to transport subcraft and vehicless.
- This component is considered to be Ship Equipment.
Description (Specifications)
Hangers are designed to accommodate subcraft on a larger vessel. Normally, a hanger can be sealed and can often act as an additional airlock.

- It generally has independent life support and environmental systems.
- It may have an associated office and machine shop.
Vehicles (such as Air/Rafts) may have dedicated hangers or may be stored within the ship's cargo hold.
Some hull configurations (such as dispersed structures) make internal hangers superfluous. However, it is not uncommon for such designs may make use of subhulls and pods to create sealed, pressurized hanger space.
History & Background (Dossier)
Many ships carry utility smallcraft that are housed in hangers. Larger vessels may carry big craft or starships within their hangers.
