A hand-held, low-power jet, the hand propulsion unit is used to manoeuvre during EVA activities. In the lower tech units, the device operates by expelling compressed gases, usually inert gas like Nitrogen or Argon.
Though bulkier, the TL–15 unit (5 liters, 2kg, Cr1000) is much cleaner in operation, using thruster technology and can be operated continuously for up to 12 hours on the integrated battery.
