Guedhoek is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the United Followers of Augurgh in the Aegaek Subsector of Tuglikki Sector.
- It orbits the secondary star.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Guedhoek is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence named Gniznkue.
- The secondary is a red main sequence named Oekhe.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 gas giant.
The various worlds in the system are named in the Aekhu language.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Guedhoek orbits Oekhe, the system's secondary star. It has no moons.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Guedhoek is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
- The world has an axial tilt of 122°. It has a retrograde rotation.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Guedhoek has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The atmospheric taint only requires simple carbon filters to remove.
- Charcoal burning to produce raw materials for the local manufacture of filters is the primary occupation of many of the lowest classes of society, outside of the Arcologies.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Guedhoek has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The world's native flora is lush and abundant, and includes some very beautiful plants. The types of fauna native to the world are extensive, including many predatory carnivorous organisms.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The origin of the name of the world is obscure, but may be of German origin, though likely heavily corrupted. The earliest Vargr records, however, show no evidence of prior settlement by Solomani.
The world "joined" the United Followers of Augurgh when the starport was occupied by that polity in 1096, a move conducted to pre-empt the Dzarrgh Federate gaining control of the world.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Guedhoek has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Guedhoek has a population of 40,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- More than 99% of the population is made up of Aekhu Vargr.
Urbanization[edit]
The cities that dot the surface hold 96% of the total population, but only around 80% of the human population.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Guedhoek possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Guedhoek has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Guedhoek has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -1 (unimportant)
The world is largely self-sufficient, with a strong agricultural economy based on high quality exports. Some wealthy estates use advanced agricultural equipment, including robotic harvesters, which must be imported and require specialist maintenance.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 6 (limited)
- Efficiency: +2 (good)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: A (discordant)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 8 (very confusing)
- Symbols: 8 (somewhat abstract)
The dense, tainted atmosphere has resulted in a stratified society, with status based on local air quality, concentrated in a few arcologies.

Circa 1200[edit]
The world is profiled circa 1200, following the events of the Collapse and the depredations of Virus.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Guedhoek does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)[edit]
Guedhoek has a population of 40,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- Around 97% of the population is Aekhu Vargr.
- Approximately 3% of the population is human.
The humans present on the world are descended from refugees of Imperial / Vilani origin evacuated from Corridor Sector between 1119 and 1138. They mostly occupy artisan niches or the lowest unskilled niches in the economy.
- The refugee population has started to develop a patois of Aekhu and Anglic, with a few Vilani words mixed in.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Guedhoek possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Guedhoek has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
- The balkanisation remained constant between 1116 and 1200, although the specific governments present on the world changed sizes and constitutions.
World Military[edit]
30 Battalions
Later Timeline[edit]
- 1146: a strain of Virus infects the starport. About 8 months later a second Virus, controlling a large warship, bombards the port facilities and destroys the original infestation.
