Description (Specifications)

The Gruenor Spike class Light Interceptor is built for the Langemarck Royal Navy, the space arm of the military forces of the Langemarck Coalition in Vanguard Reaches Sector. The vessel has an elegant needle-shaped hull with retractable airfoil wings: it is fast and agile and capable of operating in a great variety of environments. The Quang Mk 2.zk Model/2 computer is the foundation of the onboard electronics but its performance is impaired by the lack of a bridge. The triple missile launchers give the vessel a decent punch for its size.

The hull is fully streamlined and has retractable airfoil surfaces, giving excellent atmospheric performance that is further enhanced by its onboard gravitic systems. The vessel does not have an airlock. The vessel has a sturdy retractable undercarriage, allowing surface landings.
2.	Crew	x1 Pilot/Weapons Officer. Accommodations There is one Small Stateroom containing a bunk, a fresher, and galley facilities. It is located directly behind the cockpit and is accessed by a hatch. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. The cockpit and cabin forms a sealed compartment. There is an emergency locker.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Maneuver-6 drive and a Power Plant-6, giving performance of 6-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 6. The internal fuel tankage gives the power plant 7 weeks duration. The engineering section is controlled by the pilot. The machinery is not accessible.
4.	Electronics	There is a cockpit containing a pilot's acceleration couch. Adjacent to the cockpit is a Model/2 computer that functions as a Model/1 due to the lack of a bridge: no backup computer is installed. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a standard sensor array, and has an avionics suite. It has a transponder unit that can be deactivated on command. It is equipped with a sophisticated ECM package.

The onboard small stateroom, while cramped and uncomfortable, allows long patrols and vessels of the class often serve as pickets within a system.
