Gimmicks are interesting pieces of equipment which can be useful to the player characters in their pursuit of their goals, but which are not required.[1]
- The category includes both physical objects, Artifacts, and well as mystery resources such as Handwavium.
- Traveller-style Gimmicks are also known as McGuffins or MacGuffins.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Gimmicks can include unusual weapons, vehicles, vessels, or other special items not normally available for purchase.[2]
Gimmicks may also include a mystery resource that is fought over, but often isn't very well defined such as Handwavium.

Often gimmicks can be momentary diversions which keep the player's interest.[3]
