Giinurmuu is a nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a member of the Commonwealth of Mendan in the Kupid Subsector of Mendan Sector.
  • The Commonwealth of Mendan is part of the Julian Protectorate located in the Vargr Extents.
  • This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
  • Around 70% of the population is composed of Vargr.
  • Nearly 30% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts.

Description / Astrography & Planetology

Giinurmuu is a star system that would be unsettled were it not for the substantial mineral resources found in the satellites of its three gas giants.

History & Background (Dossier)

Most of the system's miners work for Menderes Corporation's Resource Development Division, which maintains the mining base as a central processing and shipment station. Shipments of processed ore depart the station regularly. Giinurmuu Station maintains a small shipyard to custom build and fix in-system mining craft, and also sports recreation facilities and dependent quarters for the local miners.

World Starport

Giinurmuu has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Technology Level

Giinurmuu possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government

Giinurmuu is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
