Geptorem is a moderate population pre-industrial hellworld, with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
  • This world would like to become a major industrial powerhouse in the subsector, but lacks the population and resources to build an adequate workforce and industrial business sector.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Corelian Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Geptorem has a solitary primary star.

  • It is an orange main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

No information yet available.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Geptorem is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Geptorem has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Geptorem has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Satellites:[edit]

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No information yet available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Extensive native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The oceans of Geptorem feature a large amount of vegetation, untouched by the wars of the landmass. It tends to be broad-leafed with thick stems, and purple in colour.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The history of Geptorem is one of ritual warfare. A native code of honour holds home areas as sacrosanct, while highly stylized warfare is conducted by various factions in the belts of wasteland between settlements. Offworld contact has done little to effect the course of history on Geptorem except to pour more money into the endless wars. Geptorem is rich in natural resources which are exported off-planet, along with military expertise. All political decisions are based on the outcome of battles.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Geptorem has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Facilities[edit]

Port facilities within the system include:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Geptorem possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Geptorem is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

The five factions of the Attorn are each ruled by a monarch who serves for life. The five nations are actually somewhat united in spite of the constant wars, and trade readily even when in conflict with one another. For this reason, Geptorem typically avoids a Government Type 7 (Balkanization) label -- which shouldn't mislead visitors into assuming that the ritual honour wars are anything but serious.

World Law (L)[edit]

Geptorem has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: C (very abundant)
  • Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
  • Infrastructure: B (very extensive)
