Gakghang Sector, also known as Ianshaplzdier Sector, is coreward of the spinward end of the Vargr Extents.

Gakghang Sector is an underdeveloped sector.

- In 1985, Zhodani (Alien Module) was published.
- In 1990, Alien - Vilani & Vargr was published.
- It has NOT been T5 Second Survey reviewed nor updated to T5 standards.
Description (Specifications)
While the Vargr Extents and the Zhodani Consulate have made informal claims to this sector by naming it, neither polity is actually present. Until 1104, Charted Space incorrectly believed this sector to be uninhabited.
This sector is home to the minor human race, the Pirians. Aside from Piriga, the sector was barren until shortly after the Pirians were given jump drive by the Yaskoydri Technocracy in -2001. Since then they have spread through the sector, aided by immigrants from all four sides.

- The sector is closer to the Vargr Extents than to the Zhodani Consulate, so the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service uses the vargr name. (That there is a significant Vargr population in the sector, even if not part of the Vargr Extents, compared to no Zhodani population in the sector helped cement their decision.)
