A fusion plant is a facility where power is generated using a nuclear fusion process.
Description / Specifications
To reduce the reactor pressures and energies at lower tech levels a proton-proton reaction is used, while at higher technology levels the CNO reaction chain provides more power, but requires a higher confinement temperature.
History & Background / Dossier
At lower technology levels the power levels available are limited by the confinement chamber and electromagnetic field forces, which as the technology advances are able to increase the power output for a certain volume, and reduce the minimum size of the reaction confinement chamber.
