The Executive Helicopter is a type of Rotary Wing Aircraft.

Description / Specifications[edit]

The Executive Helicopter is a medium rotary-wing aircraft designed for the civilian market.

Hull / Suspension[edit]

A streamlined enclosed hull constructed from steel and lightweight materials.

  • Length: 10.9m, Width: 2.6m, Height: 3.2m.
Rotor Diameter: 11.1m.
  • Overall Volume: 91m³ (6.8 dTons).
  • Unloaded Weight: 2,800 kg.

The overall volume measures the vehicles maximum dimensions less the rotor blades. The enclosed volume of the hull is substantially lower. The rotor blades can be folded to lie along the line of the aircraft when it is being transported. The length includes the tail, which mounts a tail rotor that serves to counter the torque effect created by rotation of the main rotor.

The undercarriage consists of a set of skids.

Power / Transmission[edit]

An efficient gas turbine power plant using hydrocarbon fuel. The fuel supply is contained within a small protected tank.

Performance[edit]

  • Takeoff Run: 0m.
    • Maximum Takeoff Weight: 6,000 kg.
  • Cruise Speed: 110 kph, Top Speed: 180 kph, Stall Speed: 0 kph.
  • Duration: 4 hours at Cruise Speed, 3 hours at Top Speed.
  • Maximum Altitude: 9,000m (depending on the local atmosphere type).

Note: in the event of a power plant failure, the aircraft may be able to gain enough speed during its fall to cause autorotation in its rotors and thus gain lift.

Crew[edit]

The fuselage of the Executive Helicopter consists of an enclosed compartment fitted with clear windows. The crew compartment is located towards the front of the vehicle and has two seats: a passenger compartment is located centrally and contains four seats. The seating is fitted with safety harnesses. The vehicle has full environmental protection (the hull is weather and pressure proof and is considered partially sealed), and is fitted with interior lights and air conditioning. Both of the front seats are fitted with advanced mechanical controls. Consoles provide data such as velocity, altitude, and component status.

The vehicle has a small internal cargo hold. Cargo may also be suspended below the aircraft on a sling.

  • Cargo Storage: 2.1m³
  • Maximum load: 3,200 kg (including passengers) before performance is impaired.

Equipment[edit]

Running lights. A small (typically 300 km range) radio communications and navigation system, and a hand-aimed spotlight mounted on the hull base.

History / Background[edit]

A sophisticated rotary wing aircraft (a helicopter) available in a variety of body styles and colors. The density of the local atmosphere dramatically affects vehicle performance.

Variants of the Executive Helicopter include an Air Ambulance version that carries two stretchers, emergency medical supplies and trained medical personnel; a Rescue version with a side-mounted winch, emergency equipment, extra fuel reserves and additional sensors; a Law Enforcement version with additional sensors, extra fuel reserves and a speaker system; and a News version equipped with cameras and a small digital editing suite.
