Thomas, could you elucidate the recent spate of deletions and nominations for deletion? I thought we had permission to extract information from GT material, and I can't see why articles like Andor (world) and Pixie (world) are infringing on any copyright (except, of course, Marc Miller's, but if we've lost his permission, the whole wiki is in violation). : All of the articles I changed or marked for deletion are direct text lifts from GURPS Traveller: Behind the Claw. While we have the right to extract information (names, dates, other facts) from the GT books we don't have the right make direct copy of chunks of text. It is in direct violation of SJGames online policy.

: The reason this came up now is I finally got a copy of BtC and I found a few entries were copies and decided to check all of them. This is one of the less pleasant aspects of being an administrator.

: I'm a little sensitive about this because of other discussion on the Wikia site (our host) about their enforcement of copyright. They are aggressive about shutting down Wikis which are violating copyrights (or other terms of service), especially if the Wiki administrators are slow in responding to the complaint.

: If you know that one of the entries was a copy of an earlier work that we do have the right to copy, post a note to the talk page and remove the delete tag. Tjoneslo 15:27, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

::I have removed outright those that had a single source, multiple sources I need to put back the original source and will handle in a bit. Dcorrin 16:47, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
