An absurd number of the Wanted Articles are just a link to a specific year. While a large number of existing year pages are just stubs 1021, there does not seem to be consensus on if this is okay (a number of the missing articles were previously deleted 1037). Should year number articles be batch created to remove the articles from the Wanted section or should they be left blank? DataFrogman (talk) 00:09, 22 August 2022 (EDT)

The consensus on the status of empty articles has changed over the lifetime of the Wiki. Our current plan follows the Wikipedia mode. Please don't create empty articles. The red links to the missing articles are an important signifier of missing content. If you can find things to add to the year articles, please do so and create the articles as needed.
