Following the suggestions of several people, some here, some on other wikis, I've installed the [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Cite/Cite.php Cite] extension. This will allow wiki article writers to reference specific sentences or paragraphs with their source via footnotes. This follows the Wikipedia style of adding citations to the text. <br />
<br />
From the directions on the Cite page, you (the article writer) needs to make two changes: add a '''<nowiki><ref>Reference text here</ref></nowiki>''' to the article where you want the footnote marker to appear, then add a '''<nowiki><references/></nowiki>''' at the bottom of the article. <br />
<br />
If you have several citations which are all from the same source, you can give them a name. For example '''<nowiki><ref name="BTC">[[GURPS Traveller: Behind the Claw]]</ref></nowiki>''', then each of the following same references can use the same name: '''<nowiki><ref name="BTC"/></nowiki>'''. <br />
<br />
For the Traveller Wiki specifically, I'm going to add the '''<nowiki><references/></nowiki>''' tag to the '''<nowiki>{{Sources}}</nowiki>''' template, which is, or should be, on every page. This means, if it works correctly, the only change you (the article writers) need to make is adding the '''<nowiki><ref></nowiki>''' tag with the correct text. <br />
<br />
If you have questions about this, please let me know. <br />
