I just completed a revision of the detailed planetary template. The example of this new template may be found at Manyana (Daibei Sector, Iingar Subsector 2901). This revision is an attempt to bring the template into closer alignment with the Traveller Map format which the Wiki links to as well as eliminate duplicate entries. I've also attempted to "drill down" the data stream from the highest level (Astrographical) down through system level (Star Type and Planetary) and finally both primary and supplemental Mainworld data.

I moved the UWP section to a more prominent placement above the Mainworld sections as this data is, I feel, of primary interest to the more casual viewer of the Wiki.

As a final step I tidied up, as necessary combined and alphabetized the data sections to hopefully present a more streamlined table of contents section.

I welcome comments as always and hope this missive finds each of you both hail and hearty. Until next we speak... please take care.

I got the following request on my talk page:

Thomas, can we change the {{Sources template to numbering instead of bullets?
That would make it much easier for me to update as I compare the sources with metadata tracking by years.

Therefore we would be changing this:

This article was copied or excerpted from the following copyrighted sources and used under license from Far Future Enterprises or by permission of the author.

To This:

 2. Marc Miller. Imperial Encyclopedia (Game Designers Workshop, 1987), 79.
 3. Don Perrin. Starships (Imperium Games, 1996), 14-15.
 4. Author & Contributor: Lord (Marquis) and Master of Sophontology Maksim-Smelchak of the Ministry of Science

Or This:

While I understand the what about the request, the why eludes me. Why does the output of the sources template make your job easier. And does it make sense for, what is essentially and unordered list, to add numeric orders?

Yes, because it makes it possibly to quickly see quantity and not have to count bullets.

 • The quantities can be used to compare to the metanotes to make sure that they match in number.
 • That's it in a nutshell. Compared and contrasted quantities.
 • The metanotes are used by researchers and writers... which then helps to generate new Traveller materials.
 • I believe that is a worthwhile goal. More Traveller. Better researched, new materials.

of the bunch above, I'd prefer the "or this" type of listing, but in general I see no need... but that is a personal decision.
