Forum:SectorWorlds template update needing a review
As we discovered with the addition of the rest of the worlds to Dagudashaag Sector, there is a hard coded limit of 500 items to a Dynamic Page List (DPL) list. The Template:SectorWorlds2 and the Template:ClusterWorlds templates both uses the DPL to generate the list of worlds in a sector (or other area). Since we're now using these templates to use on areas much larger than the 500 item limit (e.g. Domain of Vland or Dagudashaag Sector), the templates can not longer display the complete list.
DPL can do pagination, that is show the entire list in sections (1 to 200, 201 to 400, etc). User:Tjoneslo/sandbox is my experiment with creating a template that allows a list of worlds with a paging. I'm looking for feedback on converting both the SectorWorlds2 and ClusterWorlds templates to this style. Tjoneslo (talk) 09:15, 19 July 2015 (EDT)
- I'm not sure what kind of feedback you are looking for, but this thought came to mind. If we can generate these things automatically (...and it's certainly possible) then I think we should put it in a sortable table form to make it tremendously easier to find things. I also think it should have a drop down key like the UWP's have. Those are my first suggestions. Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 09:26, 19 July 2015 (EDT)
