Editing Forum:Front Page Design (Again)

Wikia, our fine hosting service, is redesigning the Monaco skin, the layout system. This [http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Wikia%27s_New_Style New Style] will force a redesign on our front page (and perhaps others). 

Of the several changes will be the addition of an ad space in the upper right corner of every page, including the main page. This will screw up the neatly formatted front page we currently use. Wikia has provided some [http://help.wikia.com/wiki/Help:Main_page_column_tags new tags] to help with the layout issues. 

We also need a new (or updated) logo, as the current one is being replace with a different sized one.

The Monaco skin also has some very nice dynamic menu's on the left column. I'm thinking of removing the "Major sections" block in favor of moving those items into the menu. 

So suggestions for ordering of content. The current page design demands two columns (one with the ad space at the top), so we'll be using that format. Is there any new information or different layout you'd like to see?

Update 2: According to the [http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Wikia%27s_New_Style New Style] discussion, Wikia was supposed to roll out the new layout today (10-JUNE-2008). It has been delayed for one week (to 17-JUNE-2008). I'm hoping to get some feedback and or comments, and then update the main page on Monday (16-JUNE-2008) in anticipation of the changes. 

With this new change I'll also need to update the [[:Image:wiki.png]] image which shows up in the upper left corner. [[User:Tjoneslo|Tjoneslo]] 17:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
