The Force of Destiny has an interesting history… Its author Dale Kemper wrote the original manuscript in the late 1980's inspired at least in part by his experiences editing [[Far Traveller]] magazine for FASA. He had discussions with Game Designers’ Workshop about it being published by GDW as a Traveller novel, but they folded before there was any formal submission.

Dale sold copies of the manuscript on Ebay from time to time. [[Paul Sanders]] of [[Cargonaut Press]] bought a copy and offered to publish it, agreeing to supply Dale with 200 copies of the book in payment. The 200 copies of the book were never forthcoming (“lost in the mail” according to Sanders) transforming the Cargonaut Press edition into an unauthorized pirate edition.

A legitimate edition (authorized by the author and with its Traveller content licensed through Far Future Enterprises) was published in hardcopy by Hamster Press in 2003, and copies are routinely available through the author on Ebay.
