Mainworld Data

The mainworld has one large moon and orbits the star Procyon.

Mainworld Size (S)

This world is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

This world has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

This world has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)

Fenris is an important, high-population industrial world located in the Outback within Sol Subsector of the Solomani Rim.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)

Fenris, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport (Sp)

Fenris has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

This world has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Demographics

Humaniti, population 95%

  • Other, population 5%

World Government (G)

Fenris has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

  • Fenris is a member of the Imperium and contains a Naval Base.
  • Fenris is under military rule and has been issued an Amber Zone travel advisory. The Solomani Party remains outlawed on Fenris, decades after it became legal in most of the border zone. Naturally, there are a number of clandestine cells in existence. Fenris remains a world where anti-Imperial violence can erupt at any time.

World Law Level (L)

This world has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

World Technology Level (TL)

Fenris possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Culture

The first facility in the Procyon system was a Terran naval refueling station, established just before the First Interstellar War. For decades, the Fenris colony was the first and last line of defense for the Terran Confederation. Over time Fenris developed a martial culture with a unique institution of Lodges, each of which functions as recreation, mutual-support club, secret society, political party, and citizen militia all rolled into one. Fenris was an ardent supporter of the Solomani Movement, and after Imperial forces captured the world the Lodge system provided a highly resilient means to promote Solomani sympathies.
