Eromnek is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

  • In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a member world of the Hefrin Colony located in the Spinward Drift Subsector of the The Beyond Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

This world is the second outermost moon of a large gas giant, heated by its parent's infrared heat and the tidal pull of neighbouring moons.

Mainworld Conditions[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Siblings Joachim and Jennifer Hefrin arrived on Khiiszarbi in 745 to establish the United Spinward Worlds; they set up an additional colony at Eromnek two years later. This gas giant moon colony was the only one of their outposts to really gain traction and attract new settlers.

Eromnek has, however, caused the Hefrin Colony more problems than anything. In 760, self-crowned King Jordan I nearly severed the United Spinward Worlds, which only continued to exist because Eromnek couldn’t feed itself. Eromnek has since suffered from chronic underinvestment, the departure of thousands during the misrule of Queen Jasmine, and a slowly decaying infrastructure.

Eromnek is located on a trade route connecting Khiiszarbi and Hactor, and is also part of a circular route passing through Jarnac Pashalic, Corellan League, Zydarian Codominium, and Hefrin Colony space.

World Starport[edit]

Eromnek has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

The Hefrin Colony government now spends its entire defence budget on hiring Jarnaci contractors as security officers and pays subsidies to the starport here (among others) to cover the theoretical lost revenue from granting docking privileges to Jarnaci patrol corvettes.

Population[edit]

500,000

Military[edit]

Each member of the United Spinward Worlds (AKA Hefrin Colony) is authorised to raise a militia and close orbit defence force. The paramilitary police forces of the King of Eromnek are one of only two such groups to actually exist.
