EoS or EOS = End of Service

Description (Specifications)

End of Service term is usually referred to as EoS or Sunsetting and refers to a time when the hull or frame is completely retired from service or sold to allies, at least in an official capacity. Such a hull might also disassembled, cut apart, and sold as scrap.

A related term is IOC, which is part of the procurement cycle as a new vehicle, ship, or other item goes through initial research, roof of concept, prototyping, and eventually reaches operational status.

History & Background (Dossier)

Similar terms exist amongst the many other sophont societies of Charted Space. Records of ships that never were in service with the Imperium may record an end of service with whatever polity they were used by.
