Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Land on Drenalch is concentrated in a globe-spanning equatorial supercontinent. Rugged mountains, interior deserts and devastating storms in coastal regions limit the habitable area to Gureana, a protected semi-circular gulf more than 2,000 kilometres across. Gureana appears to be a basin excavated by an intentional asteroid impact during the Ancients' terraforming effort.

World Starport[edit]
Drenalch has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Timeline[edit]
- -300,000: Ghenani transplanted on terraformed Drenalch by the Ancients
- The Final War of the Ancients sees the Ghenani reduced to stone age conditions
- -5000: Ghenani redevelop agriculture
- City states and early metalwork follow within the next 2,000 years
- Circa -3000: A starship of either Zhodani or Vlazhdumecta origin crashes on the planet, spurring an age of discovery; an iron age follows within 300 years
- -2300: Discovery of gunpowder, setting off a series of wars between competing city states
- -1100: Renewed contact with Zhodani explorers, which ends poorly when zealots attack and kill a Zhodani anthropological party
- -150: The Ghenani form a unified secular government
- 695: Zhodani scientists again visit the Ghenani, now meeting a united people who apologise for the events of the still-remembered massacre. Relations with the Zhodani quickly improve.
