Didaa is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- This a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Nareshakir Subsector of Fornast Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
The surface gravity is 0.75 Gs and the atmospheric pressure is 1.21 atmospheres. The planetary density is 5.48 g/ml and it has a molten iron core, and is tectonically active. Overall the planet has a cooler climate.

System Data
There are a pair of ringed large gas giants in the system and three smaller ones with fewer moons. There are a pair of asteroid belts, as well. Local branch offices of the major Mega-corporations with mining subsidiaries are keenly aware of this untapped mineral wealth.
Mainworld Data
This planet sits in the habitable zone 0.8 AU from its primary and there are ten worlds in this star system.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
Large expanses of ocean cover most of the planet. Long clusters of island archipelagos are found across the planet. Some volcanic islands are fairly large, but there are really no true continental land forms.
Native Lifeforms
There is a rich, diverse biosphere on this world. The red star is so dim, the best coloration for photosynthetic autotrophs is very dark, near black. The photosensitive pigments and catalysts are not green. Many of the native organisms are sensitive to infrared, and have red and black, often striped camouflage. Humans often come in contact with the beach life forms. One sample is the Didaa Beach Ecosystem, and it is detailed here.
History & Background (Dossier)
This planet is held as a private reserve. There are several amazing species of local lifeforms. The thick dense air, combined with lower gravity allows for several amazing flying species. The vast oceans are home to a complex variety of spectacular organisms. The knight and his local staff, maintain and protect this natural wonderland. Only the most elite and trusted Royal Imperial Scientific teams are chartered to study and observe these creatures.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility
Didaa, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
World Starport
There are no port facilities. Visiting vessels with authorization are permitted to refuel from the gas giants before they are forced to leave the system. Naval vessels use the orbiting tankers and resupply vessels to stock up, before continuing their patrols. Vessels rotate out on a monthly basis.
World Technology Level
The native technology is non-industrial at TL–2. Everything is hand made from naturally occurring organic materials. Imported technology is not permitted to stay on world. Naval crews do not permit planetary landings, and have orders to shoot on sight.
World Government
This planet has been established as a Red Zone. There is no strong, centralized government. Each adult has a equal voice in group decision making and leaders require popular consent to make decisions. Law levels involve taboos against weapons and technology which are out of balance with the native ecosystem.
World Military
The naval task force from the 254th Fleet is charged with this interdiction enforcement has access to a large naval tanker and supply ships. The uninvited are greeted by salvos of missiles, should the automated beacons be ignored. A couple of Staban Class Battle Riders function as system defense boats, lurk near the gas giants to ensure intruders refuel and leave. None are permitted to land without direct authorization of the subsector duke.
World Economy
The natives live in a hunter/gather state with no economic concerns from the outside. Outsiders who obtain permission to visit, take guided tours and mount special safari expeditions as honored guests of the subsector duke. The vast natural resources of the world and its biosphere are not allowed to be exploited and are held in noble trust.
Trade Data
The locals do not produce excess sufficient to support trade. Visitors who behave themselves are often given simple gifts from friendly natives. The locals are not interested in imperial credits and don't need them to survive. The natives are not concerned with material goods, they only carry what they need to survive. If a tool or weapon is broken or lost, they simply make a new one. Being nomadic, they are not territorial and the extremely low population density means that there is no competition for resources. Encounters between small wandering groups are celebrated.
World Demographics
The natives are found in small scattered family groupings. The use native creatures to travel from island chain to island chain. Strong selective pressures and a limited breeding stock has produced some strange genetic drift, when compared to normal imperial citizens. There are no permanent populations of outsiders permitted to stay.
World Culture
The current survivors are probably descended from early scientific teams sent to investigate the possible colonial opportunities. Early Scout reports looked promising, and the local biosphere was clearly intriguing. Local noble influence quickly secured the planet as a private research preserve. The breeding stock was small, the human genetic diversity was limited, and it led to some interesting adaptations. The locals tend to be tall, 2m+ for the males because of the low gravity, they are darkly pigmented to better cope with the local star. They are lean, muscular and color-blindness is common, especially among the males. Full color vision, and females who possess it are highly valued. Most prefer dim lighting and are sensitive to what off worlders consider normal light levels. The local guides and hunters have developed their other senses to be as keen as possible to compensate. Their technology degraded long ago, but they still see themselves as wardens and protectors of the local life forms. They live without a large ecological footprint. They leave no scars upon the land, no pollution, no hazardous waste. They live in tune with the planet. Their tools, weapons and clothing are all fashioned from natural sources. Visiting nobles and other VIPS from favored mega-corporations, love to come here for rustic retreats off the beaten path. They have to get naval fleet permission to get past the naval interdiction patrols. The people are eager to breed with off worlders to control for accrued genetic damage. They realize they are dying off, slowly over time. The locals are quiet and reserved, they are stoic and deeply honorable. They are brave, honest to a fault, and coolly analytical, they see things in the same terms as their scientific fore fathers and mothers. They are excellent scouts and very observant. They have no permanent settlements, they move with the seasons, follow the food sources and only take what they need.
Historical Data
The original scout survey teams and scientific researchers date back to the first Vilani in this subsector. The exact date during the Consolidation Wars is unknown, but occurred between (c.-5400 to -4015).
World Timeline
Imperial recontact took place long after the Long Night.
