Desolate is a nonindustrial fluid world.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Khouth Subsector of Corridor Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This world has a nearby Imperial Way Station.
- During the Long Night this world was named Khinukhin.
Description (Planetology)
The only free world around a lonely "bachelor" star, no one dared colonize this dangerous planet.
- The world is wreathed in a deadly cloud of hydrofluoric acid, and possesses few resources worth exploiting.

History-Era: New Era
The small 1117 population inhabited a mostly automated orbiting starport, which quickly surrendered to the advancing Vargr.
- The human staff was expelled to the Domain of Deneb, and the Irrgh Manifest Navy tried to convert the base into a naval storage facility.
- A vampire ship blasted the station into debris in 1140, leaving a cloud of metal in geostationary orbit.
