Depot (Ma 0301) is a rich water world with its surface 90% or more covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
- Most observers think that the planet's economy and population will prosper in the near future barring outside forces.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Kerr Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world hosts an Imperial Naval Depot.
- During the Long Night this barren world was named Shimuniipam.
- This world is also known as Color.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
During the First Imperium, this world served as a Naval Depot, which was abandoned during the Second Imperium and Long Night.
- The main world is named Color, receiving its name from the perpetual rainbows found in its atmosphere. Sea water is evaporated by sunlight, and form mists that refract the suns rays in the early mornings and late afternoons.
- It is a young world, barely two and a half billion years old, and its crust is hot and mobile.
- No land breaches the surface of the world ocean, as most rock is easily eroded basaltic magma.
- Huge undersea shield volcanoes erupt periodically, creating phreatic (steam) explosions that disturb the sea in drum-like concussions.
- The world has a minimal axial tilt of just 9 degrees, which moderates its weather into predictable and mild patterns.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Local sea life is multicellular though not grand in size; it is largely inedible, requiring large scale food imports for the local colonists.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
A rich Imperial water world, Depot is the Naval Depot for Massilia Sector.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Depot (Ma 0301), as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial minor duke.
History-Era: New Era[edit]
Settlement of this water world can be traced back five thousand years. Vilani colonists came here early in the Ziru Sirka period, utilizing it as a refueling stopover for couriers of the bureaux. Some mining operations were carried out on the sea floor, but exploitation was limited to a few test mines. Vilani officials were more interested in fraternizing the worlds moderate temperatures and relatively storm free waters for their own entertainment, and development was deliberately kept to a minimum. The Terrans conquered this world during the Nth Interstellar Wars, but did not settle the world with any intensity. During the Long Night the settlement was largely evacuated.
In the later years of the Long Night before the founding of the Third Imperium, Kaggushus mounted a new colonization effort, building undersea settlements for mining operations. Copper, Iron and Platinum group metals were extracted for export to the Hub Worlds in exchange for manufactured goods and foodstuffs. This trade was unaltered by the ascendancy of the Third Imperium and subsequent annexation. Over-reliance upon commodity trade made the world entirely dependent upon the mother world, a situation reinforced by good relations between the local nobility and the Throne.
As the settlements grew, the population grew anxious at ending Kaggushus' domination and agitated for independence. It was during the Interregnum following the assassination of Empress Jaqueline I that they managed to attain home rule, though the world's own political unity fragmented after Kaggushus attempted to put down the rebellion with mercenary troops.
Relations with the Hub have been rocky ever since, with the locals jealously protecting their independence against perceived domination by Kaggushus. Offworld investment enabled greater economic self sufficiency, and the worlds tech advancement attracted the interest of the navy, who built a base, and then a depot, in the years after the Solomani Rim War.
Covered entirely by water, it is still a mystery why this world was chosen by the Imperial Navy to house a naval depot for Massilia Sector, though the local abundance of materials for shipbuilding are one obvious reason. The bulk of the facility is housed in deep water arcologies, with numerous orbital arrays and habitats housing factories and servicing the local shipyards. During the Imperial Civil War the facility became a primary supplier for the Vengeance and Extermination Fleets, and subsequently a target for Ilelishi commerce raiders. A Federation Black War squadron reached this far to trailing in 1128, inflicting only minor damage, but compelling the world's leaders to declare neutrality, and to voluntarily destroy their communication arrays. By all accounts Lucan was very displeased with the locals "bad attitude", but the Collapse forestalled his retaliation.
The lack of offworld broadcast communication arrays saved the world from the original Samson strain Virus. Local manning of surviving deep site meson guns and PADs saved it from Vampire Fleets. Food shortages led to several million deaths from famine, and the local leadership was compelled to seek offworld assistance to set up undersea farms and hydroponic bays. Several arcologies were abandoned because of part shortages, and the feuding governments banded to together into a cooperative council to allay further disasters.
They unified the military under a single command to respond to Vampire attacks and accidents. To earn more income and acquire scarce resources, the military salvaged a handful of surviving merchant ships as transport, and tapped the vast storehouse of leftover Imperial arms to equip several regiment sized units for offworld hire. Several of these were used by Count Nolonar of Kaggushus during his successful bid to reunite his world under his rule in 1169. This contact led to a cautious reopening of ties with the homeworld, with just enough belligerence added in to forestall the possibility of a takeover.
The success of the resurrected Hub Worlds has encouraged a steady thaw in relations, and in 1190 the locals started selling or transferring salvage from the Depot to Kaggushus. Hub World naval commanders have openly stated their desire to transfer the facility in toto to their control, which has upset many conservative and nationalist member of Color's government to the point of demanding a return to isolation. Fortunately cooler heads have prevailed, and the Hub Worlds have repented for their greed by building a brand new A class starport that can build up to TL–11 vessels.
