Dakar was originally populated by Vilani colonists, which after the fall of the First Imperium were joined by many Terran ethnic groups. This later led to a societal rift and the discontented set out to populated a new world which became known as New Dakar. Despite the initial discontent, the two worlds later reconciled and have formed a warm relationship, cultural exchanges, expanded profitable trade, and other mutually beneficial exchanges, to the point that only historians still remember the original sources of difference. Dakar has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions.
