Curetas is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and is also a low-population vacuum environment with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Redoubt Subsector of Divide Sector.

Spartan-Curetas System

The primary is Spartan, a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.004 Sols, a mass of 0.273 Sols, and a diameter of 414,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (IV) a vacuum worldlet, (V) the Curetas Main Belt, designated the mainworld, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) a small gas giant, and (VIII) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(V) Curetas Main Belt

(V) the Curetas Main Belt orbits within the outer system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 2.9 AU (434 million km) from the star and is primarily made up of carbonaceous bodies with diameters of less than 100 km. The inner edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of nickel-iron bodies, is considered to lie at around 1.8 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of icy bodies, is considered to lie at approximately 4 AU. The main inhabited body is named Port Curetas, with a mean orbital distance of 2.5 AU around Spartan and an orbital period of 7 years 206 days. It has a long axis of 230 km, a density of 3.44 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.011 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrographics. Mean surface temperature: -150°C in sunlight, -220°C in shadow.

Curetas has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
