Crucis Margin Sector/meta

Notes (2017)

Note that unlike the Ley and Glimmerdrift Reaches sectors (as well as the Maranantha-Alkahest Sector (renamed "Gateway" Sector in the 2004 Gateway to Destiny book), the stellar locations, world names, and world physical data in the 2004 Gateway to Destiny version of Crucis Margin are the same as in the 1981 Judges Guild version, though the subsector names have been changed.

The sole exception is the subsector capital world of Ecija (Crucis Margin 2623), whose name was changed to Tubroyllufotyusk (Crucis Margin 2623).

Meta-history & Background (2007)

The Crucis Margin Sector was originally published in 1981 by Judges Guild.

• When Judges Guild lost their Traveller licence, the data published in the sector book was de-canonized.
• When the Sunbane data was published in 1989, the star locations and UWP information was completely redone.

The Sunbane data was the basis for the 2004 Gateway to Destiny book, the now official canon on this sector.

• Unlike the Ley and Glimmerdrift reaches sectors, the subsector names have been changed as well as the stars and political entities.

Meta-History & Background

Crucis Margin Sector was originally designed by Dave Sering and appears in Classic Traveller Crucis Margin (Judges Guild, 1981).

• It was later revised by Martin Dougherty and Hunter Gordon and appears in Gateway to Destiny (QuikLink Interactive, 2006).
  • The previous JG material is no longer official and was largely overwritten by Gateway to Destiny.
