Crompton is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This is a "Reserve World" with restricted access, either to protect the indigenous lifeforms, to protect available resources, preserve pristine and idyllic real estate, or other reasons.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Core Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • This world was once known as Nirinirk.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

This is the site of vast alien ruins of an unknown origin. The ruins date from between 3,000 to 5,000 years ago. Detailed archaeological surveys have been completed without a clear conclusion. Decades later after interest in this site was long gone, a derelict starship was discovered in deep space beyond the Oort cloud of the system. This wreckage shared technological details with the ruins. The crew that explored the vessel all died shortly after. Apparently, they went mad, and a micro-spore vector disease was suspected. The relic and explorer ship and its crew were destroyed by naval vessels. They were perceived as a threat when they tried break medical corps quarantine.
