After an abortive attempt to detach the Amshagi province of the ''Ziru Sirka'' as his own personal dominion, he and his supporters fled, taking with them at least one squadron of heavy warships, and a large number of freighters and supply ships. The Vland fleet pursued them halfway across Corridor Sector before having to turn back for lack of remaining logistical support. Kuluunaddar established a temporary base of operations on the water world of [[Kaasu (world)|Kaasu]] (1209 Corridor). By c. -2680 (c. 1240 V.I.), other expatriates from the ''Ziru Sirka'' began to settle on Kaasu. These groups were made up mostly of dissidents (''khagarii'') who had either been exiled or voluntarily emigrated due to an unacceptable level of cultural divergence from the Vilani norm.

By the time Kuluunaddar died (date uncertain, probably c. -2640) and passed his title to his son, his confederation had spread to at least five worlds. By -2600 the domain had grown to ten worlds and it was around this time that it came to be referred to as ''Karkasha Surake Danim Zirunek''.

Corridor Sector is an Imperial sector containing 268 systems dramatically split by the Great Rift.

  • 69 systems lie rimward of the Rift and 149 systems form the coreward third of the sector.
  • Corridor is named for its role connecting old, well-established Vland Sector with the frontier sectors Deneb and the Spinward Marches.
  • Alternate toponym: Llananae Tourz, (translated from Logaksu language as "The Devoured Sector")
  • Alternate toponym: Roughantz Sector

Meta-History & Background[edit]

Corridor Sector was originally designed by Marc W. Miller and appears in the Classic Traveller Atlas of the Imperium (GDW, 1984).

General Overview: No information yet available.

Ziru Sirka[edit]

The sector was first entered at Sharkhagu (Corridor 3235), by ships of the Sharurshid bureau out of Sakin (Vland 0135).

At Cafad (Corridor 3135), a low-tech Human population was discovered. Vilani efforts to integrate the Cafadi Humans into their Grand Imperium progressed slowly. Meanwhile, with the help of the First Imperium, the Brinn of Divad quickly established a system-wide society that thrived on the exploitation of its asteroid belts and jovian worlds. Under the beneficent rule of local Vilani, the Brinn culture prospered and grew.

In the coreward part of the sector, the Karkasha Surake Danim Zirunek (concise designation “Karkasha”) was an independent confederation of Vilani-populated worlds during the First Imperium between c. -2700 and -2480. Politically, this confederation was nominally governed by the hereditary prince who also served as Kaasu’s head of state. Sometimes the Karkasha operated as a federated state, and other times it was more of a league of allies.

In the late -2400s, part of this sector was governed (along with part of the Provence Sector) by Tazzik Kuluunaddar, the governor that started the Vargr Pillaging[1]. After an abortive attempt to detach the Amshagi province of the Ziru Sirka as his own personal dominion, he and his supporters fled, taking with them at least one squadron of heavy warships, and a large number of freighters and supply ships. The Vland fleet pursued them halfway across Corridor Sector before having to turn back for lack of remaining logistical support. Kuluunaddar established a temporary base of operations on the water world of Kaasu (1209 Corridor). By c. -2680 (c. 1240 V.I.), other expatriates from the Ziru Sirka began to settle on Kaasu. These groups were made up mostly of dissidents (khagarii) who had either been exiled or voluntarily emigrated due to an unacceptable level of cultural divergence from the Vilani norm.

Their good relations with the Ziru Sirka government did not carry much weight when the Terrans took power. The Terrans quickly established a military government to keep the natives under control. Brinn culture began a stagnation that was to last for almost 3,000 years.

The Brinn took advantage of the chaos to rebel. For nearly a hundred years, the Brinn expanded outward. As they moved, they brought death to numerous Human worlds and outposts. However, the endless warfare cost them heavily. The starships which they had claimed from the fallen Second Imperium began to fail beyond repair. While the Brinn could maintain starships, they couldn’t build them.

Third Imperium[edit]

Vland joined the Third Imperium soon after its formation. This allowed the Imperium to expand into Corridor, Deneb, and Spinward Marches sectors. The Imperium also benefitted by bringing the three Vilani megacoporations (Naasirka, Makhidkarun, and Sharurshid) under the same banner as the Sylean industrial base, working to expand the Imperium and their markets. History-Era: Rebellion[edit]

Corridor today is disputed territory, which lies between the so-called Restored Vilani Empire and the loyal Domain of Deneb.

The Corridor Sector was invaded by Vargr almost as soon as the Corridor Fleet was withdrawn to the Imperial Core Sector. The Dzarrgh Federate, Irrgh Manifest and Glory of Taarskoerzn, accompanied by multiple freelancer and non-governmental Vargr groups ranging from small parties to organised religious orders, all grabbed what territory was available to be grabbed. There were successful battles (e.g. Durima, 1118)

This migration was collaborated with or resisted piecemeal by the remaining Imperial infrastructure including the Domain of Deneb/Regency of Deneb, the Restored Ziru Sirkaa and the Corsair Alliance. The two major powers were both unable to find a mutual basis for cooperation and even came to blows.

History-Era: Virus[edit]

Virus was first seen in this sector in 1133 and had overtaken the entire sector by the early 1140s.
