Description

The Codori Prime class is an extremely well appointed design of small luxury passenger liner, with some limited ability to conduct cargo service. Corporate executives and their Fives friends often use these vessels for excursions and business trips, effectively turning them into private Yachts for the duration of the charter. Examples of the Codori Prime class are occasionally encountered along Star Lanes within the Distant Fringe region, often travelling in the company of commercial escort vessels of a paramilitary nature.

General Description

The Codori Prime class Liner is a two part hull, with the aft section consisting of a streamlined disk with a diameter of around 35 meters and a forward flattened wedge-shaped section with a length of approximately 15 meters, joined by a 5 meter neck. Some elements of the hull are narrower and some are wider, giving the vessel a total enclosed volume of approximately 10,800 cubic meters.

Fuel Tanks occupy the central and rear sections of the ship. The cargo hold includes the cryogenic (low berth) section. Working sections of the vessel such as the machine shop, the galley and general crew quarters are located aft. Senior officers are accommodated forward, close to the bridge, while stewards have rooms close to passenger cabins. Middle passage accommodations are found in the less desirable midsection of the vessel while first class cabins are located on the outer edges of the disk and have windows.

1.	Tonnage / Hull	The Codori Prime class Luxury Liner is constructed using an 800 dTon hull built in a close structure configuration. The hull is partially streamlined and has limited airfoil surfaces, giving a slightly improved atmospheric performance that is fundamentally reliant on its gravitic systems. Individual sections of the ship are divided by bulkhead walls. There are x6 personnel airlocks located around the vessel. The cargo hold is accessed by large doors and has a loading ramp. The vessel has sturdy retractable legs, allowing surface landings.
2.	Crew	Total Crew Complement: x20 x3 Command, x4 Engineering, x3 Gunnery, and x3 Service Crew, of which 2 double up as flight crew for the vessel's intrinsic subcraft as required. In addition, the vessel carries x6 Stewards and x1 Medic. Note that Stewards have double the normal staff to better attend to passenger needs. Accommodations There are x49 Staterooms. x12 Staterooms are given over to crew quarters. The officers have individual cabins: all other quarters are double occupancy. x24 luxurious Staterooms are available to passengers. Their needs are attended to by the stewards. x12 Staterooms are given over to an observation deck, common rooms, a well appointed galley, a dining room, entertainment facilities, offices, and private chambers. All public areas are sumptuously appointed. x1 Stateroom is fitted out as a fully equipped medical bay. There are 22 Low Berths, tended by the ship's Medical Officer and properly trained stewards. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Sections of the ship can be isolated in the event of an emergency. There are multiple Emergency Lockers.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a DeVoss-type Jump-2 drive, a Maneuver-2 drive and a Power Plant-2, giving performance of jump-2, 2-G acceleration and producing 16 Energy Points. The ship has an agility rating of 0 and an emergency agility of 2. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for one Jump-2 and one consecutive Jump-1 and gives the power plant 6 weeks duration. The engineering section has a main control room. Ladders, gantries and platforms give access to the machinery. The jump drive utilizes a hull grid. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/5fib Computer: no backup computer is installed. There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, an advanced sensor array, and has an Avionics suite. It is fitted with backup commo and sensor systems. It has a transponder unit that can be deactivated on command.
5.	Hardpoints	x8 hardpoints. The listed battery groupings are considered standard for the class. Alternative battery groupings may be designated for specific charters.
6.	Armament	The normal weapons fit-out for a Codori Prime class is: x2 triple Pulse Laser turrets, grouped into one battery of 2 linked turrets x2 triple Missile turrets, grouped into one battery of 2 linked turrets Each missile rack mounts x3 standard Anti-Shipping Missiles.
7.	Defenses	The hull is plated, braced and structurally reinforced, with an armor rating of 1. x4 triple Sandcaster turrets, grouped into one battery of 4 linked turrets The vessel is not fitted with screens or other passive defensive systems.
8.	Craft	Flight Section x2 20-dTon Narva class Pinnaces. The subcraft are housed in dedicated hangers located forward (close to the bridge) and aft (close to engineering): the hangers can be sealed and have a total volume of 40 dTons. The subcraft serve as utility transports, sightseeing and excursion vessels, and as lifeboats in the event of an emergency.
9.	Fuel Treatment	The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 256 dTons. The hull is fitted with fuel scoops. The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in a few hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.
10.	Cost	The basic cost of the vessel, complete with its complement of subcraft, is MCr473.694. Architects Fee: MCr4.737 If multiple examples of the design are ordered all of the ships in the production run qualify for a 20% discount, which reduces their price to MCr378.956.
11.	Construction Time	112 weeks (28 months) as standard. Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12.	Comments	Standard cargo capacity amounts to 90 dTons. The cargo hold can be subdivided into sections using removable partition walls. It has independent life support and environmental systems. It can be sealed and isolated.

History & Background

The Codori Prime class is classified as a Luxury Liner and is known for the sumptuousness of its internal fittings. These are bespoke and unique, created by celebrated designers, made to the very highest quality by skilled craftsmen and manufactured from rare and exotic materials. Crew members are specially chosen for their skills and winning personalities and always include a qualified doctor and a gourmet chef.

The hull shares many design features and structural elements with the slightly smaller Palatine class Merchant Trader. While the Palatine is aerodynamic and sleek, the Codori has enough additional nacelles, protrusions, and bulky structure to affect its aerodynamic performance and qualify it as a Close Structure configuration.

The Codori Prime class is broadly representative of vessels of its type. It offers good protection against a range of potential threats: it is equipped with eight military grade triple turrets with full fire control.

Commercial Use

Mooi & Belanis Heavy Haulage SA, a large Transport and Logistics company, maintain a small fleet of Codori Prime class Liners for exclusive private charters.

Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities

A number of companies manufacture ships equivalent to the Codori Prime class. They vary in hull shape and internal layout but all share the same basic design and all have very similar capabilities and performance characteristics.

• Each variant class is named by the company that produces it: these organizations generally draw on traditional naming protocols. It is not uncommon for a historical class name to be reused.
• Individual vessels within a class are issued specific serial numbers and transponder codes but traditionally are named by their first crew, though from a list of approved options. This is considered a serious affair and a ship with a frivolous name is considered "unlucky".
