Cipango is a garden world with an environment conducive to most sophonts. The system has a population between 100 million and a billion sophonts. The governance of this world is from Chronor (Spinward Marches 0304). This is a temperate world, with a climate of average temperatures. It is a member of Zhodani Consulate in the Cronor Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Province of Iadr Nsobl. This world supports a Zhodani Military Base and the system supports a Zhodani Naval Base. In the Zhodani Consulate this world was named Sachebr.
Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Cipango is the main trade and communication route to the Riverland Cluster and serves as the gate to the Riverland Wall, an important Zhodani defensive line. Given this location Cipango enjoys a thriving commercial economy, supported by extensive agricultural and industrial holdings.
This world is part of the Cipango Cluster.

In the inner habitable zone is Kusai that has a foul smelling atmosphere and dangerous wildlife. The climate is a bit too hot to be comfortable to humans, so it has not attracted a large population. It is also within the 100 diameters jump-limit from the sun, so it is rarely visited by interstellar traders.
Cipango itself has a large moon, Tsuki-Shivva that has been colonized. It is a fairly nice place that is a bit cooler than Cipango itself. Most of the new colonists from the Consulate have settled here.
The Cipango system is easily defended since it only has one gas giant, and one population centre. If an enemy (The Imperium) attacks the gas giant it will suffer heavy losses to all ships and SDB stationed there. The F-11 moons that orbit Fukuzawa with 60 degrees separation also have extensive sensor stations, that easily can detect an incoming fleet. If the enemy tries to attack the main world, it will instead meet a strong fleet, and it will not even know from what planet, Cipango or Tsuki-Shivva, that the meson fires are coming from. There are also ships and sensors in the Yubiwa-Ring. Reserves can also be hidden in the Yon-Belt and inside the 100 diameters jump-limit from the sun.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prior to the Second Frontier War Cipango was part of the Imperium and served as the Imperial subsector capital. The war began with an attack on Cipango before quickly expanding to engulf three subsectors. As a result of the war Cipango became a Zhodani world.
Other Data[edit]
Cipango is a rich world in a strategically and economically important position. The system is heavily protected by the Zhodani Navy that has a base here. Cipango is ruled by a governor appointed by the Chronor High Council. Most of the population is Solomani, but more and more Zhodani are moving in. The Zhodani name for the planet is Sachebr, but this name is rarely used.
Cipango was first settled in 356 by a mix of pioneers, traders and farmers from the Imperium with the help of Baron Fukuzawa who also was a very wealthy industrialist. In 423 Cipango and four other worlds in the subsector became members of the Imperium, and Cipango was made the subsector capital. In the Second Frontier War (615 to 620) Cipango was liberated by (lost to) the Zhodani Consulate.
