Chandler Station is a deep space installation located in the Great Rift so as to allow Jump-4 transit to and from Zuflucht (world) in the New Islands Subsector and Jump-3 transit to and from Tonnurad (world) or Jump-4 transit to and from Cerebin (world), both of which lie in the in the Usher Subsector.
Chandler Station is privately owned but heavily supported by the Imperium, often playing host to Imperial Navy or Imperial Interstellar Scout Service vessels, and has a platoon of Imperial Marines and a minute Imperial Consulate that collects data on Rift traffic.
In an attempt to make the station more self-sufficient it has large hydroponic gardens which allow the appearance and experience of walking in the open air in a garden. This notwithstanding, supplies and fuel are extremely expensive.
