Mainworld Topography and Geography

Cauldron is a large, wet world, about 80% covered in seas and with a dense atmosphere. This permits lush vegetation and a well developed ecosphere which includes a number of large predators.

History & Background (Dossier)

Agriculture is easy in the planet's temperate lands, with multiple harvests possible in the same year providing crops are rotated and land is left fallow from time to time. Life is thus fairly easy for the 500 or so residents, of whom the vast majority dwell in a single village. The remainder are mainly hunters and trappers who ply their trade in the wilderness surrounding the settled area.

Cauldron is popular for safaris and big game hunting.

World Starport

Cauldron has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Government

Cauldron's government is easily categorised as a participating democracy, but in practice the setup is quite complex, as the opinions of different individuals carry more or less weight depending on the subject matter. There are few actual laws, and little in the way of formal legal process.
