Arms Registration are ships papers showing that a vessel is lawfully armed for its own defence and the defence of a government cargo.

The levels of lawlessness in the belt resulted in bandit/pirate gangs holding up the ships of various states that were carrying government goods. To ensure that such ships could defend themselves, the governments armed the vessels (for "their own protection") and issued them with certificates showing that they were lawfully armed - and made various agreements regarding this practice.
Only two classes of non-Naval vessels are permitted to be armed under these agreements:-
- Message Couriers
- Diplomatic Transports
However, given the transient nature of these tasks, and the effort involved in installing arms, vessels are issued these registrations if they are considered candidates for there roles - not just when actually undertaking them. A practice that has been open to some abuse.
