Gas Giants | 1 |
Brovlekal is a barren fluid hellworld with oceans of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, or hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids.
- This world has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is a member of the Zhodani Consulate in the Gaval Subsector of Zhdant Sector.
- It is a gas giant with many moons.
- It is a secondary world within the Zhdant system.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
The Zhdant system has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence named Pliebr.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Zhdant, the mainworld.
- x3 secondary rocky worlds.
- Adrablsish, a tidally locked inner system vacuum world.
- Pliantshotl, an inner system vacuum world.
- Emkachdraf, a vacuum ice world lying in the far outer system.
- Dlemstiats Tsiaqr, a relatively sparse planetoid belt.
- Brovlekal, a single large gas giant.
Gas Giant Data[edit]
Brovlekal is a large gas giant lying within the Zhdant system, the homeworld of the Zhodani.
Brovlekal orbits within the outer system.
- It receives very low levels of stellar energy.
- It orbits beyond the stars Jump Shadow.
Gas Giant Size (S)[edit]
Brokleval has a diameter of 118,900 km, a mean density of 1.47 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 2.38 G. It is a large gas giant.
- Within gas giants, local gravity is traditionally measured at a theoretical "surface", the altitude within the atmosphere where the mean atmospheric pressure equals 100 kPa.
- The tiny, extremely hot, still contracting core is composed of heavy elements and silicates.
Gas Giant Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Brokleval has a massive, complex, very dense atmosphere composed primarily of hydrogen, with a small percentage of helium and trace amounts of other gases such as neon, ammonia, and water vapor. The atmosphere is extremely tempestuous, with constant high-velocity winds and violent wind shear effects. Chemically stained cloud layers, swept into broad bands by the powerful winds, give the world a distinctive banded appearance.
- Above the core regions is an immensely high pressure mantle primarily composed of hydrogen in an electrically conductive liquid metallic phase. It gradually transitions into atomic gases.
- The very deep atmosphere has crushing pressures and is very turbulent, with high speed winds and cloud layers made up of salts and silicates.
- The deep atmosphere is composed primarily of hydrogen and is very dense and dark. Much of the helium present within it precipitates as rain, which leeches out other gases.
- The deep atmosphere ends at the altitude where the mean atmospheric pressure equals 100 kPa, some 50,000 km above the core.
- The upper atmosphere is thousands of kilometers thick and gradually gives way to the vacuum of space.
Magnetosphere[edit]
Brovlekal has a strong magnetic field. Its strength ranges between 0.4 mT at the equator to as much as 1.3 mT at the poles. It balloons to up to 2.5 million kilometers toward the star and tapers into a long tail extending more than 1 billion kilometers behind the world. It creates a cavity in the stellar wind that most of the world's moons orbit within. Beyond the magnetosphere is the magnetopause, where the planet’s magnetic field becomes weak.
- Powerful electrical currents generated deep within the mantle of Brovlekal create a series of magnetic fields.
- Near the planet, the magnetic fields trap swarms of charged particles and accelerate them to very high energies, creating intense radiation belts. These saturate the inner moons with high levels of radiation.
- The electromagnetic storms generated by the magnetosphere can be heard by commo and sensor equipment throughout the system. At times, Brovlekal can produce significantly more powerful radio signals than the star.
Satellites:[edit]
The world retains multiple natural satellites.
- Major moons.
- Minor moons.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The world has no native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Brovlekal is a large gas giant lying in the outer part of the Zhdant system.
- It is believed to have been named for an ancient deity.
- Brovlekal can also be translated as Uranium.
- Zhdant is the Zhodani homeworld.
The system is bustling - even the quieter outer regions see regular activity.
- Commercial vessels arrive and depart constantly
- Commo is buzzing with chatter and signals. Communications are in Zdetl.
- Multiple navigation beacons are active.
- Vessels regularly travel among the worlds and moons that make up the system.
- Naval vessels are active in the system.
Note that social data, though frequently updated, may be out of date: additional groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Spaceport (St)[edit]
Brokleval does not have a spaceport.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Brovlekal possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Brovlekal has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
- It is administered from Zhdant.
World Military[edit]
None.
World Law (L)[edit]
