The Black Imperium was a interstellar empire which came into being sometime after after the release of Virus in 1130 from the remnants of [Lucan]'s Imperium until 1218. Also known as the Black Curtain, its territory encompassed Core Sector, and depending on the year, portions of Antares, Fornast, Ley and Empty Quarter Sectors.

Goals
The Black Imperium's goals were mostly the same as Lucan's Imperium: to bring the other faction's of the Rebellion under his dominion. Complicating matters was the growing threat of The Great Dominate of The Gods of Thunder to Trailing. It is the split in resources which prevented the Black Imperium from succeeding in its goals.

Origin
After the release of Virus from Research Station Omicron, Virus infected ships spread throughout Charted Space. One of the Viral entities had come to Capital (world). Lucan had somehow made an arrangement with the entity.
