  • This world has a nearby Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.

Description (Planetology)

Barsoom is a planetary oddity: a small world with a thin oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere and a significant amount of water. Although close to its red dwarf sun, it is not tide-locked and has two small moons. which appear to be captured planetoids -- though no planetoid belt exists in the system. These anomalies have fueled speculation about planetary engineering performed by a pre-Human civilization.

Because the planetary ecology is quite fragile, the government tightly regulates all on-planet economic activity. Recently the government has taken independent action against the pirates who plague the subsector.
