A Barony is a noble's fief associated with one primary world (usually one which is rich or agricultural in character in the case of a Landed Baron), or with a particular territory or organization.

The land grant of a Landed Baron will typically be the equivalent of 4 terrain hexes on the fief-world, and may contain a specific land-grant of up to 100 km2 on the core world.
