1.	Tonnage / Hull	700,000 tons. The Dreadnought is constructed using a 700,000 dTon hull built in a fully streamlined needle/wedge structure. The ship is equipped with fuel scoops and on board purification. They are capable of ocean refueling, but that is rarely attempted due to the low acceleration makes escaping the gravity well difficult on larger planets. The hull is heavily armored, the armor is just short of the maximum level that the admiralty wanted and as a result, it is not the best available. The long range is appreciated strategically, it is incapable of pursuit in the event of a breakthrough which has let some enemy vessels escape destruction by virtual of their superior acceleration and agility. They often can not choose the range of their engagements and have to do as much damage as possible before the enemy escapes. Individual sections of the ship are divided by bulkhead walls. Sections of the ship can be isolated in the event of an emergency. The hull includes internal grav plates and inertial compensators. All accessible sections of the hull have basic and extended life support.
2.	Crew	The Dreadnought requires 5,053 crew: x350 command, x1,260 engineering, x1,282 gunnery, x1,400 service, and x61 Flight.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Jump-5 drive, a Maneuver-2 drive, and a Power plant-7, giving performance of Jump-5 and 2-G acceleration. The ship has an Agility rating of 2 and an emergency Agility of 2. There is fuel tankage of 400,000 dTons, sufficient for a Jump-5. There is an emergency reserve of 1,000 tons of fuel. The power plant has a four week duration. The engineering section has a main control room. The jump drive utilises a lanthanum hull grid. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is a computer Model/9 fib: the vessel carries an additional backup computer model/9 fib. All work stations are equipped with dynamically reconfigurable, linked holographic displays. The vessel is fitted with radio, laser and maser system wide communications equipment, an advanced active and passive EMS sensor arrays, full ECM, and an avionics suite.
5.	Hardpoints	7,000 hardpoints.
6.	Armament	The ship is built around a massive factor T meson gun spinal mount which can overwhelm most targets with a few hits. The crippling critical hits render most targets operational kills in short order. There are ten 100 dton repulsor bays, and five hundred 50 dton missile bays. In surface bombardment missions this vessel can sterilize all intelligent life from the surface of most colonies. Five hundred triple beam laser turrets and five hundred dual fusion gun turrets are each organized into fifty batteries each for point defense work. Some rumors persist that these vessels were commissioned to get rid of an excess of single particle accelerator turrets. Three hundred and thirty turrets, firing in thirty three batteries are mounted. Naval procurement had been embarrassed by the lower than desired battery strength of these systems, coupled with their disastrously high power drain. It was found that while lower in mass, they lacked the hitting power of the larger particle accelerator bays used across the fleet. Some have gone so far as to say, that just enough of these vessels were commissioned to use up the stock, sold to the fleet by a certain megacorporation from sector level supply chains. The admiralty swore an oath not to repeat that ordering error again.
7.	Defenses	Five hundred triple sand caster turrets in 50 batteries assist with defense. There are factor 9 nuclear dampers and factor 9 meson screen and each has an emergency back up to fail over to in the event of extensive battle damage.
8.	Craft	The ship carries twenty 50 dton Cutters as interface and service craft. These are sometimes swapped out for combat craft. Each Cutter has its own dedicated hangar. These provide close air support and ex-filtration for the ship's marine companies. There are 700 fleet marines in a reinforced combat battalion task force. They use the twelve assault capsule launchers and the 301 drop capsules to insert assault ranger companies to secure beach head landing zones for follow on forces.

12.	Comments	There are 2,529.5 staterooms and 2,527 low berths for the frozen watch. Double occupancy accommodations are required for all crew. There is no cargo capacity, marine drop capsules and small craft have been placed in the hold to maximize marine operations. This makes the vessel reliant on in-progress supply replenishment. They tend to stay home as much as possible and avoid long cruises. However, few cargo transports have their strike range which make logistical operations while underway problematic, at best.

History & Background (Dossier)

A large dreadnought serving with the 99th Fleet, this class engages enemy ships of the line for imperial naval squadrons in numbered regular combat formations. They lack maneuver speed and agility. They are not considered expensive for their size and procurement sold the admiralty on their long range and heavy armaments. Many argue that they are too wastefully big. It had been hoped that their size would intimidate enemy combatants, someone apparently forgot to tell the enemy they were supposed to be afraid.
