  • As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It is a member of the Sath Alliance in the Sath Subsector of Far Home Sector.
  • Warning: humans are not welcome within the Sath Alliance. Those few humans that venture into its territory are generally met with a hostile reception and are closely monitored at all times.

System Data

Shaiakh-As'ah System

The primary is Shaiakh, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0268 Sols, a mass of 0.4258 Sols, and a diameter of 658,000 km. (I-I) Ik'ah, a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, and (I-II) As'ah, designated the mainworld, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (III) a ringed small gas giant, and (IV) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Only the gas giant retains satellites.

(I-I) Ik'ah

(I-I) Ik'ah (UWP H322000-0) is designated a hospitable world. It orbits Shaiakh at a mean distance of 0.13 AU (19.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 26 days 5 hours: it is tidally locked to Shaiakh. The axial tilt is 6 degrees. Ik'ah has a diameter of 5,130 km, a density of 5.61 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.41 G. The world is flexed by tidal forces and is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.26 bar and a composition of 84% nitrogen (N2), 15% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen and the relatively high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 2 rads per hour. Approximately 20% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 29°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star and the seas drift across the globe.

It has an orbital period of 42 days 18 hours: it is tidally locked to Shaiakh. The axial tilt is 4 degrees. As'ah has a diameter of 6,281 km, a density of 5.68 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.51 G. The world is flexed by tidal forces and is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.32 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by gases of volcanic origin, principally carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Approximately 32% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 23°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star and the seas drift across the globe.

Native Lifeforms

Shaiakh-As'ah System

Ik'ah, lying in orbital position (I-I) (within the habitable zone) has extensive native life, entirely consisting of single-celled cyanobacteria-equivalents that can be found in every geologically active area on the world. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

As'ah, the mainworld, has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the system is known to have native life.

This system is controlled by the Khas'ahi Faction of the Sath Alliance.

World starport

As'ah has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
