Amshu supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Sapphyre Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Amshu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Giir. Listed on some maps as Amshii

History and background

Amshu has never expanded beyond the small trading enclave that surrounds the starport, the 6,000 or so inhabitants live in the single settlement at Amshu Port and are almost exclusively concerned with its smooth operation.

The port is the only source of fuel for traffic using the Dagudashaag Main. The majority of the surface water is locked into the polar ice caps and the extreme weather make wilderness refueling hazardous.
