The following table represents a system for orbital placement based on Light minutes. This system will allow more than one planet to reside with in a Traveller orbit. Select the orbit number per the Traveller rules and then flux for the actual position within that orbit.
Note: Multiple planets may now reside within a Traveller orbit. Just make sure they do not overlap. If they do, re-roll the flux dice for a new position or simply move the new orbit in or out one position.
Orbital Angle:
To determine the angle at which the planet is currently located use the following formula:
Angle = ((1D6-(1D6-1))+5+((1D6)-(1D6-1))+4)*10))/360
This will result in a number between 0 and 359. This is the angle the planet is currently located at along its orbital path. Record the current game date on which this angle was recorded so that you can accurately track the orbital body's location at all subsequent and previous times durring game play. This applies to Planets, moons, stars, and asteroids. It can also be applied to derelict ships.
