The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. Government control of this world is by an external military force. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Udusis Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Aleshanee, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

The moon of Aleshanee is christened after a girl's name from the Coos tribe of Native American Indians, meaning 'She plays all the time'.

Aleshanee herself is a fairly non-descript moon orbiting the small, white gas giant of Coos in the outer reaches of the solar system. An important cultural and educational institution, the Caunotaucarius Imperial Finishing School Founded in 259, is located on Aleshanee, where the children of ‘Nobles in embarrassing circumstances’ are trained for Imperial service. All costs are assumed by the Imperial College of Arms.
