While this is mostly in the form of sustenance (food) it can also be in the form of plant-based or animal-based textiles, pharmaceuticals, and raw materials used in other industries. Every species of [[conventional life]] requires such resources, so [[world]]s that produce quality [[foodstuff]]s of plant, animal, and other forms are always in demand. Even as technological solutions to producing foodstuffs are invented, most [[sophont]]s still greatly prefer "quality food" to more technological substitutes such as vat-grown meat or lab-grown fungal meal supplements.
