History & Background (Dossier)

Adapam labels itself "Trail's End", a title it shares with Benoncra (Foreven 3131), in reference to the termination of the great Spinward Main. This self-promotion is no more substantial than the paper it is written on, as most antebellum traffic usually exits the Main at Mater Nova to Sabine rather than continuing through Star Lane. The atmosphere is dangerous to breath even for short periods, and the hellish nature of the world deters visits from most traders. The local economy is dependent upon farming of the world's local microbes, which are bred or genetically engineered to produce a number of pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals from the local ecology.
