Description (Specifications)
The rank of Subsector Marshal (sometimes called The Brigadier-General) is the commissioned officer rank in the Imperial Marines that commands all the Marines in the Numbered Fleet for a Subsector or has duties of similar importance in the staff of the Marshal-Commandant of the Corps at the Capital.
- The equivalent rank in the Imperial Navy is Fleet Admiral.
- The equivalent rank in the Imperial Army (Ground Forces Command) is Major General.
The role of Subsector Marshal is political and administrative and is thus of greater status than it may appear given it's equivalent Imperial Army rank. The appointment to this rank attracts the title of Baron[1].
The rank of Marshal has appeared and disappeared several times over the centuries. The Marshal oversees a group of four or more subsectors (a Quadrant). Marshals are found only in areas where the threat of war is high, carrying with it the corresponding need to quickly move regiments to cover hot spots. As of 1105, there are no marshals serving in the Imperial Marines.[2]
